Introduction to the trip
Warping with the world’s highest peak and deepest gorge, Nepal has become the ultimate destination for trekkers. In the early 1960s, commercial trekking in Nepal became famous after many successful summits of Mount Everest, also known as Mount Sagarmatha and Mount Chomolungma. The trekking trails of the eastern region of Nepal are extremely popular for their breathtaking views and extraordinary adventures. Everest Base Camp is in a northeasterly direction about 150 miles from the capital of Nepal, Kathmandu. It is located in the center of the Khumbu region of eastern Nepal. Everest Base Camp trekking trails are the veins that connect you to the heart of the Himalayas and the top of the world, Mount Everest. It is a wonderland for most hikers that comes with everlasting glory.
The Khumbu Valley has been the homeland of the Sherpas. This hike is not just a hike; It is the journey above the clouds. Explore the challenging trekking trails around the world’s highest mountain for an amazing visit and once-in-a-lifetime cultural experience. The Sherpa culture of hospitality has always been appreciated by tourists visiting Everest Base Camp. This Trek offers you to photograph beautiful forests, glacial moraines, mountains and slopes. Along with a panoramic view of Mount Everest (8,848.86 m/29,029 ft), the highest peak in the world. You can also enjoy stunning views of peaks such as Mount Lhotse (8,516m), Cho Oyu (8,201m) and Mount Makalu (8,436m). Everest also has a wide range of flora, fauna, and wildlife, including musk deer, snow leopards, Himalayan tahr, and red pandas. This trek also offers a breathtaking view of the highest glacier in the world, the Khumbu Glacier (4900m).
Lukla (2,828 m) is the starting point of the trek. Lukla is a major city in the Khumbu region. The path continues from Namche Bazaar to the valley below Everest via the ImjaKhola River. The trail leads to the destination on the traditional route through Lobuche and Gorakshep. After reaching EBC, we climb Kala Patthar to explore the paranoid view of Mt. Upon arrival at TIA, our representative will meet you and transfer you to the hotel. Registration at the hotel. Get cool. In the afternoon, our guide for the trek will visit you and give you a brief information about your trek. Dinner and overnight in Kathmandu.
Since our trekking will start from tomorrow, today we will rest and be ready for the Everest Base Camp trek.
After breakfast. Check out of the hotel and transfer to TIA to take a flight to Lukla. The flight to Lukla from Kathmandu is about 25 minutes. The fly offers great views of Everest and its regions. Arriving in Lukla, we will meet and greet our team and head towards Phakding. On the way to Phakding, we will get our Khumbu Rural Municipality Entry Permit at the Rural Municipality Counter in the first village of Lukla. We will walk through the beautiful landscape of the Khumbu valley smelling of cherry blossom and rhododendrons, we will cross the suspension bridge over the DudhKoshi river. We will walk for 3-4 hours to reach Phakding. Dinner and accommodation at the lodge.
After breakfast, we will hike to Namche Bazaar for around 4-5 hours. It takes 2 hours from Phakding to Monjo and at Monjo, we will get our Sagarmatha National Park permits as we will enter the UNESCO world heritage site i.e. Sagarmatha National Park. We then climb steeply to Namche, catching our first view of Mount Everest from Topdanda. Ascending through the forest, crossing suspension bridges, including the famous Hillary Suspension Bridge at Larchadovan over the DudhKoshi River, we reach Namche Bazar. The largest market town in Khumbu, the Sherpa capital – Namche Bazaar, features a lively market on Saturdays. Upon arrival at Namche Bazaar. Check in at the hotel. Dinner and accommodation at the hotel.
This day we will rest in Namche Bazaar so that our body adapts to the environment and we do not have altitude sickness in our subsequent trek, since we will move towards the higher altitude the next day. Have breakfast in the morning and explore the Namche Bazaar. We can go for the morning trek to Everest viewpoint over Namche for first time view of Mount Everest and Mount AmaDablam. Enjoy the incredible views of the mountains with the sunrise. We can also arrange an acclimatization hike to the Sherpa Cultural Museum, Namche Monastery, National Park Office, Syangboche Airport or Khumjung village. Explore around the cafeteria and restaurants, equipment shops in Namche.
Dinner and overnight in Namche.
Breakfast early in the morning and we will head towards Tengboche. We will follow the path along the slope of the valley, high above the DudhKoshi River. We can see the amazing view of Mount AmaDablam, Thamserku and Kangtega, Mount Everest with the river valley below. On the way, we can meet some Himalayan Tahr and Himalayan Monals. After the 3-4 hour hike, we will have lunch at a local tea house or lodge. After lunch, we will walk for another 2-3 hours through the pine forest to reach Tengboche. Tengboche is known for its historic monastery, the largest in the Khumbu region, and is also the birthplace of mountaineer Tenzing Norgay Sherpa. In the evening, you can join the monks' daily worship celebration at Tengboche Monastery. Dinner and overnight in a rather monastic village of Tengboche.
This day we will hike to Dingboche. After breakfast, we will pass through the village of Pangboche by walking into the woody forest. After a walk of around 3 hours, we will arrive at Syomare where we will have our lunch. Building up our power, we head towards Dingboche for another 3-4 hours. Dinner and overnight in Dingboche.
The altitude will affect you, since we will be moving to a higher altitude. We need to rest and recover energy. We will take a walk through the village of Dingboche. We will do the one day trek over Chukung Valley and return to Dingboche for lunch. Dinner and overnight in Dingboche.
After an early breakfast, we will hike to Lobuche. Today we will walk for about 3-4 hours for our stay in Lobuche. a bit difficult to climb uphill for about 1 hour, but upon reaching the top, the panoramic view of Taboche (6367m), AmaDablam (6856m) and Nuptse (7861m) mountains will be worth it. The rest of the way is quite flat. We will go through incredible mountainous landscapes, rocks, passes. We will have lunch in Thukla. Dinner and accommodation in Lobuche.
After breakfast, we will start our trek early so that we can reach Gorakshep on time and have enough time to hike to Everest Base Camp and back to Gorakshep. After the 3-4 hour trek, we will reach Gorakshep and have lunch. After lunch, we will hike to EBC. It's about 1.5 hours of an easy walk to EBC. You will be able to see the huge highest mountain in the world, Mount Everest (Mount Chomolungma) right in front of your eyes, and this feeling will be the best moment of your life. After spending some time at EBC and clicking some photos, we will head back to Gorakshep. Dinner and overnight in Gorakshep.
This day we will have early morning breakfast and trek to Kala Patthar to see the 360 degree view of the Himalayas where Kala Patthar will look like a black diamond looming over the shoulder of the other mountains. The sunrise rays hit the mountain and make the mountain glow golden. After the sunrise view, we will go down to Gorakshep and have lunch. After lunch, we will walk towards Pheriche. Dinner and overnight in Pheriche.
Today will be the longest walk. We will walk for about 4 hours to reach PhungiTenga and there we will have our lunch. After lunch, we will walk for another 3 to 4 hours to reach Namche Bazaar. Dinner and overnight at Namche Bazaar.
After breakfast, we will walk along the same path to reach Lukla. We headed to the Hillary Suspension Bridge, passing several local towns on the way. We will walk for 5-6 hours covering 18.5 km. Upon our arrival in Lukla, check-in at the hostel where we will spend the night. Get some rest and have a wonderful evening on the last day in the Khumbu region with our team. Dinner and overnight in Lukla.
After breakfast. Check out the hotel and fly back to Kathmandu.
Upon arrival, our representative will pick you up and transfer you to the hotel. Check in at the hotel. Free for the day. You can stroll through the Kathmandu valley and take a night walk on Thamel road. Overnight in Kathmandu.
