Sundarbans is depicted as one of the largest angiosperms tree forests in the world. The name sundarban is derived from an out sized flowering tree – also known as the Sundari. Sundarbans forest is the sole mangrove land of India which is located in the extreme south of Bengal within the vicinity of Bay of Bengal.The Sundarbans are known for its royal Bengal tiger those which are ill-named as man eaters. This wildlife habitat also includes eclectic flora and fauna including crocs, dolphins, king cobras, lizards, pythons and Olive Ridley. Sundarban parkland is a world heritage site since the 1987. It was established in the year 1980 by UNESCO.
LessUpon arrival at the airport, our tour representative will meet you and assist you in smooth transfer to the hotel. This journey would take guest / tourist down the rivers Hogil, Gomar, Durgaduni and Gumdi in about an hour and a half. After lunch, set off on motor launch and view wildlife from the Sajnekhali watchtower and visit the Sajnekhali Museum and Mangrove Interpretation Centre. Overnight stay
Post breakfast, you will be cruising through the deep creeks and covering the watchtowers of BurirDabri, Kumirmari as well as MorichJhapi. Burirdabri in Sundarban national Park is famous for its watchtower, a mud-walk and mangrove cage trail leading to a viewpoint known as Raimongal View Point. A visit to the watch Tower at Burirdabri camp. The Kumirmari watchtower offers an exciting view of the jungles. Enjoy an absorbing evening watching Bono Bibir Pala (A folklore of Sundarban) or Live Baul performance (Folk Music)
After breakfast, a full day cruise through the rivers and narrow creeks of the Sundarban National Park and a lovely birding experience. Food would be prepared and served on the motor boat. Visit the various watch towers of NetiDhopani. The canopy walk at Do Banki gives you an opportunity to view wildlife from a netted enclosure. Next on our itinerary would be the Spotted Deer Rehabilitation centre. Thereafter, enjoy the thrill of cruising deep in the forested area and also around the islands of the Sundarban Tiger Project area. Lunch will be served on-board. Let be guided by our guide to view the Mangrove forest from close quarters, deep inside the creeks and return in the evening.
Today, after breakfast, back to Kolkata by cruising through the rivers-Rupnarayan and Damodar. En-route, you will cross the ancient port of Diamond Harbour and the industrial town ‘Haldia’. Later direct transfer to the airport for your onward Journey.
